About Safari Aitana
Safari Aitana sits at 1,000 metres in the Sierra de Aitana above Penaguila in Alicante, the only drive-through safari park in the Valencian Community. Visitors drive their own car through the enclosures and then walk the rest on foot. The collection is arranged by continent and runs to African bush elephants, giraffes, hippopotamuses, striped hyenas, dromedaries, Ankole-Watusi cattle and Cape porcupines in the African section, tigers and Alexandrine parakeets in Asia, jaguars, guanacos and American bison in the Americas, and superb parrots in Oceania, alongside meerkats, tortoises and a large parrot collection.
The park works with Panthera, the Jane Goodall Institute, Save the Tiger Fund and FAADA, runs an animal sponsorship scheme and campaigns against the abandonment of invasive exotic pets.
