About ZOO Chleby
ZOO Chleby is a small family zoo at Chleby near Nymburk in central Bohemia, holding about 122 species and 423 animals across mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates. It concentrates on smaller species kept well rather than crowd-pullers: yellow-cheeked gibbons, colobus monkeys, servals and lemurs among the mammals, a broad parrot and softbill collection, a reptile and marine section with corals and anemones, and a large group of domestic breeds.
It also keeps an unusual permanent exhibition on extinct animals - the dodo, the thylacine, the quagga, the aurochs and the Balinese tiger among them - which is a display about extinction rather than a living collection.
