About Cotswold Wildlife Park
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens surrounds a Gothic revival manor house at Bradwell Grove near Burford in Oxfordshire, its 160 acres of landscaped gardens as much of the draw as the collection. It is best known for two things: a bird collection of 93 species, the first in the UK to breed the great hornbill, and a lemur collection with conservation programmes for crowned sifakas and greater bamboo lemurs, seen from a Madagascan walkthrough.
The park was also the first UK zoo to breed wolverines. Elsewhere there are white rhinos and giraffes on the manor lawn, Asiatic lions, Brazilian tapirs, giant anteaters, and one of the largest reptile collections in the country, running from a green anaconda and Utila spiny-tailed iguanas to Chinese crocodile lizards and an Aldabra giant tortoise presented by the government of the Seychelles.
