About Ferme d'animation l'Orchidée
The Ferme d'animation l'Orchidee at Breidenbach in the Moselle shows about thirty species and is built around touching and handling rather than watching - visitors may hold and feed the animals, fur, feather and shell alike, and the owner's stated aim is that children should still be able to tell a goat from a sheep. Alongside the farm stock are llamas, zebu, chinchillas, ferrets, a Bengal cat and Czechoslovakian wolfdogs.
The site also runs an American-themed ranch, saloon and barn with a gite. There is no standard admission price: birthdays, school and holiday-club visits and groups from ten are quoted individually.
Visitors can park in the designated parking area near the entrance of the farm. Parking is free, making it convenient for families and groups. It is advisable to arrive early during peak times to secure a good spot.
