Wild- und Erlebnispark Daun

The Wild- und Erlebnispark Daun in the Eifel is built around an 8 km car safari - visitors drive their own car through woodland and meadow where emus, European bison, mouflon, llamas, donkeys, red and fallow deer, wild boar and Heck cattle roam, with six viewing stands along the way and feed on sale at the gate. Its second draw is the Affenschlucht, a 6-hectare walk-through enclosure holding about 60 Barbary macaques on an 800 m circular path; the group has lived here since 1998 and is neutered, chipped and vaccinated every two to three years to keep it healthy.

A falconry flies eagles, owls, buzzards and falcons twice daily from mid-March to mid-November, and there is a miniature-animal farm, an adventure playground and a summer toboggan run.
