About Dier- en speelweide 'Witte Winde'
Dier- en speelweide de Witte Winde is the children's farm and play meadow on Schiermonnikoog, the smallest inhabited island of the Dutch Wadden Sea. It is run by a foundation on a municipal subsidy and donations and charges no admission. The animals are kept as a meeting place for islanders and visitors alike: three donkeys, two kunekune sows sharing their enclosure with five runner ducks, a mixed goat group, four fallow deer living with a Soay sheep and an alpaca, chickens, an aviary of budgerigars, zebra finches and cockatiels, and guinea pigs indoors.
Parking is available near the entrance of Dier- en speelweide 'Witte Winde'. It is important to check if parking is free or paid, as this can vary. Make sure to arrive early during peak times to secure a good spot.
