About La Ferme d'Yvonne
La Ferme d'Yvonne is the working farm of the Oasis du Coq a l'Ame, an ecovillage and third place established in 2021 at the Domaine d'Echoisy in the Charente, where twenty households run a living experiment in ecological and social transition with its own scientific committee. The farm was already on the land and joined the project. It keeps goats - including a Poitevine goat herd - sheep, hens, a pig, rabbits, donkeys, horses and pigeons, all handled from an early age so visitors can meet them, with volunteer guides on hand.
It also runs a conservatory for the Gauloise saumon doree, a rustic French chicken breed. The farm is a teaching tool for agroecology and agroforestry rather than a commercial attraction: the domain is open to walk, and workshops, school visits, participatory work days and immersive stays run all year.
