About Kinderboerderij Emmelerbos
Kinderboerderij Emmelerbos was built in 2001 in the middle of the Emmelerbos woods at Emmeloord, on the site of the old deer park, by Stichting Philadelphia Flevoland with the municipality of Noordoostpolder. About 24 people with a learning disability care for the animals there as day activity, supported by an animal keeper and a large volunteer team.
It keeps sheep, goats, pigs, cattle, donkeys, ducks, swans and peafowl, has a deer meadow, a duck pond and a bee house with its own beekeeper, and runs a children's activity one Wednesday afternoon a month. Admission is free.
Visitors can park in the designated parking area near the entrance of Kinderboerderij Emmelerbos. Parking is free, making it convenient for families and groups to visit without worrying about fees.
