Kinderboerderij Hagerhof in Venlo stands on the site of Hof Ingen Haege, a moated farm recorded since 1472; the children's farm itself opened in 1977. Two hectares of walks take visitors past Dutch farm livestock and every native Dutch tree species, with a herb garden, a bee house, a duck pond with a wobbly bridge, a troll hut, a gnome tree, a willow hut and a playground.
It is a CNME nature and environment education centre giving lessons to more than 4,000 schoolchildren a year, and part of Rendiz - animal care and the restaurant are staffed by people with a disability or distance from the labour market. There is no compulsory admission, only a voluntary contribution.
Visitors can park in the designated parking area near the entrance of Kinderboerderij Hagerhof. Parking is free, making it convenient for families and groups to visit without worrying about additional costs.
