About Hertfordshire Zoo
Hertfordshire Zoo at Broxbourne, known as Paradise Wildlife Park until it rebranded, is run by the Zoological Society of Hertfordshire as a charity. Its best-known section is Big Cat Territory, with Amur tigers, snow leopards, jaguars and Asiatic lions, and the zoo has an unusually strong primate collection for its size - golden lion and golden-headed lion tamarins, cotton-top tamarins, pygmy marmosets, four lemur species and white-cheeked gibbons.
Elsewhere there are sun bears, Brazilian tapirs, binturongs, red pandas, sloths and a reptile house running to Chinese crocodile lizards, Lau banded iguanas and a West African dwarf crocodile. The site combines the zoo with a dinosaur attraction, adventure golf and the National Speedway Museum, and the charity is a sister organisation to The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent.
