The Vogel- und Blumenpark Heiligenkirchen at Detmold in the Teutoburg Forest is a bird and flower park built around parrots, with a rearing station that hand-raises and artificially incubates them and publishes its breeding reports, including natural incubation of brush turkeys and the rearing of Kammtalegallas. Alongside the birds are mammals, extensive flower plantings, a playground and a zoo school.
Visitors can feed animals with a keeper, book children's birthdays, and guided tours are offered for blind and disabled visitors and for groups. There is a cycle station on site.
