The park, inspired by the Apenheul Primate Park in the Netherlands, opened in 1998 and spans 22 hectares of natural woodland. It is home to over 450 primates across 34 species, offering visitors a unique experience with free-roaming animals in a cage-free environment.

While the park primarily focuses on primates, it has recently expanded its collection to include other species. Notably, meerkats from southern Africa and star tortoises endemic to Madagascar have been introduced. These additions provide visitors with a broader understanding of diverse wildlife.
